Lee L. Davis, age 76, of Blue Ridge, passed away on April 12, 2017.
Born in Epworth, Georgia, he was the son of the late George Washington and Nora Millsaps Davis. He had worked for a number of years in delivery and sales for both Blue Ridge Supply and the Patterson Lumber Company. Mr. Davis was a long time member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He also served our country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Also preceding him death were his siblings Warren Davis, Nola Lockmiller, Myrtle Ash, Willene Patterson, Curt Davis and William Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Goethe Davis of Blue Ridge, Georgia; sons and daughter-in-law, Melvin Davis of Ocala, Florida, Warren Davis of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Ronald and Chastity Davis of Hiwassee Dam, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Edward Mullins of Mims, Florida; brother, Herman Davis of Ormond Beach, Florida; sisters, Reathel Bryan of Blue Ridge, Georgia, and Polly Raper of Farner, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 14, at 2 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Pallbearers were Matthew Walker, Robert Britt, Dustin Galloway, Collin Davis, Connor Davis and Johnny Millsaps. Honorary pallbearers were Clay Davis and the Men of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Interment followed in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Dan Wilkins officiating. Full military honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
