A roller coaster week for the Fannin County High School volleyball team ended with a berth in the state playoffs. 

Mason Bundy moves to set a block for the undefeated Fannin County Middle School eighth grade football team. The Rebels (8-0) defeated White County 20-8 in the semi-finals of the middle school playoffs Thursday, Oct. 6, in Blue Ridge. The team will play for the middle school championship against Habersham County at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at home.

Lucy Jane Watson Postell, age 86, of Epworth, Georgia, passed away Oct. 9, 2016. 

Sharon Blanche Norton,  58, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at her home. She was born on Nov. 3, 1957, in Blue Ridge, to the late Grady Watkins and Kate Green Watkins.

Billie Lou Inman, age 85, of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away Oct. 15, 2016. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late William Earl Estes and Kathryn White Estes.
