Shelby Sisson

Mrs. Shelby Jean Standridge Sisson, age 81, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Manor Lake Assisted Living in Ellijay, Georgia.

Mrs. Sisson was born October 10, 1941 in Copperhill, Tennessee to the late Lake and Pauline Shinpaugh Standridge.

She had worked for many years at AT&T as a district manager spanning several states.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth “Kenny” Sisson; a brother, Claude Jackson “Jack” Standridge; and a sister-in-law, Josephine Standridge.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Sisson Collins (Ron Sward); brother, William Lake “Bill” Standridge; sister-in-law, Dawna Standridge; grandchildren, Matthew (Kenitha) Collins and Macy Collins; great grandchildren, Logan Collins and William Collins; nieces and nephews, Sharon (David) Bailey, Billy (Tammy) Standridge, Stoney (Lisa) Standridge, Amy (Robbie) Cole, and Sonya Standridge. She also leaves behind a host of great nieces and nephews, family members, and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Akins-Cobb in Blue Ridge with the Rev. Don Padgett officiating.

Interment followed the service at Crestlawn Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, David Collins, Matthew Collins, Ben Galloway, Billy Standridge, Ron Sward, Stoney Standridge, and Robbie Cole. Visitation was held prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
